Conscious Incompetence

1. Unconscious incompetence
2. Conscious incompetence
3. Conscious competence
4. Unconscious competence

I was first introduced to these 4 stages in the skill-learning process by the enigmatic Prof Joel Lee. And thinking back on what he said, it is really very descriptive of what we experience every time we try to learn something.

So far I am generally around Stage II in the realm of practicing in Singapore, with some aspects moving into Stage III, but looking at the amount of things we have to learn, and are even expected to know, it will be many years before I'm fully in the realm of Stage III (assuming that is even possible given how wide the field of practice is), let alone Stage IV.

Will I have that many years to try to reach someplace in between Stage III and IV?
