Today there would have been HCCO practice. Ah Xi would be jumping over the moon again for the Nth time - it is a miracle he (or she as argued by dolphin) has not suffered from severe leg cramps or crashed into the moon after so many jumps.
But all this never happened. There was no HCCO, the LT3 empty and silent. The CO room remained locked, the instruments within quiet and still.
Softly, the music of the last dance begins to play in my heart.
It has been a wonderful 7 months, a renaissance of happy times. It's good to be home again, home where the heart is.
But I may have to leave again. Soon.
It is a quiet last dance, a solitary waltz by myself down that empty corridor.
Farewell, HCCO.
